It is important to choose the correct size discount bird cage for your parrot. If you have a small bird, make sure you have the bar spacing no greater than 5/8" so that they do not escape or get stuck trying to escape.

For large birds, like Amazon Parrots and larger, 1" bar spacing is fine. Usually the larger cages have the 1" bar spacing.

Another thing to consider if you have a large bird, is whether or not they need a stainless steel bird cage. If your bird is a strong chewer and climbs around the cage using it's beak, you should seriously consider one of our discount stainless steel bird cages.

Stainless steel bird cages are a lot more expensive initially, but in the long run you will save a ton of money. At Discount Bird Cage, we only carry high quality surgical stainless steel cages. They will last you a life time, instead of just a few years.

Another consideration when choosing your discount bird cage, is whether you want a dome top cage or a play top cage. If you have a separate play stand for your bird, then a dome top cage will work just fine.

If you do not have a separate play stand, then I would recommend that you purchase a play top bird cage. This will provide freedom for your bird when you are home. The bird will feel closer to you and will have more opportunities for stimulation.

Remember that a frustrated, bored bird will likely be a much noisier bird and may also develop feather destructive habits. Give your bird lots of room to roam, rotate lots of interesting toys, and spend quality time with them.
